Yep, it's time for another Simply Betty Double Whammy Release Blog Hop!
Victorian Beauties Halloween, the last SBS Halloween line of the year...

{sniff sniff... throat choking up... chin quivering... tear falling}

...and a little Thanksgiving  Jude & His Shenanigan Crew.
first to get all of the details & what to include in your comment... of course we all LOVE comments, but the giveaway will be drawn from the SBS blog :)

If you've arrived from Angela's blog, then you are on the right track!

First up, we have Mikey & Lizzie from Jude & His Shenanigan Crew Thanksgiving :)  Yes, I know... they are TERRIBLY cute, and NOT creeped out at all.  Does it count that I originally was going to put a HUGE SCARLET LETTER "A" on Lizzie's bodice?!  ;)  Kinda cheeky, me thinks... but I held back... for once :)

James the Zombie!!
Don't you just LOVE him?!  I was channeling Creepy Glowbugg for this one... can you tell?  She loves zombies.  And yes, I know... this really isn't appropriate for many people, but I think I know what card to send Glo when she's feeling under the weather... LOL!
Love ya' Glo!

I love the whole "oopsie" look on his face {giggle}... it makes me smile.
And I think I got the blood pool about right :)

Fiendishly Fun Friday - What are you eating?????

I'm so sorry I forgot to post this earlier (Donna, did you manage to actually get through breakfast without being creeped out? :P)
Well, maybe I can get you in time for dinner?

I'm so sorry I forgot to post this earlier (Donna, did you manage to actually get through breakfast without being creeped out? :P)
Well, maybe I can get you in time for dinner?

These are described as Cajun Turtle Burgers, although they're hot dogs, minced beef and bacon. Sounds so delicious, looks so wrong! I do eat meat, but I like it to look much less like a dead animal by the time it gets to my plate :P

For this one, I really wasn't sure whether to post the pictures or not. However much I tell my self that it's an ice-lolly, there's something horrific about the way it looks. So, before you click, these are NOT guns, they're ice lollies. Keep repeating that as you look :P
Ice Lolly Guns

And this one I'm not posting the picture for because frankly, it makes me feel sick. :P You have been warned! Deep-fried spiders

HDH047 - Freaker's Free-for-All

HDH Macabre Monday Rules:
1. Create a dark and macabre SOMETHING (card, scrap page, altered item, whatever) that follows the specific Macabre Monday challenge given. Cutesy is fine, but creepy is better :)
2. You have until the following Sunday night @ 5pm central time to post your creation and please leave a direct-link back here.
3. If you upload to any online galleries (TACPCC, S&S, PCP, SCS, etc.), please tag the title using HDH047.
4. Weekly giveaways!  Some weeks will be loaded with loot, others not-so-much... but the thrill is in the win, right?!  Some prizes shall be by random drawing, others hand picked... and I'm not telling you ahead of time :)
5. I'll be selecting a weekly Gruesome Twosome (my top two favorite creations) from all the players. At the end of every month these will be compiled and a Master of Macabre will be selected and will receive a little giftie from me... this could be stamp sets, handmade items, papers, halloweenie embellishments... you just never know.

Ok, my little pretties... your challenge this week:
Freaker's Free-for-All

 You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween page, project or card using whatever the hell ya' want!!  That's right, baby... a true free-for-all... no rules... no suggestions... no limits :)  Well, the ONLY suggestion would be that they should be REALLY dark and creepy this week... you know, Halloween is a mere 110 days away!

I think that all of the jack-o entries last week really got me in the mood for Halloween.  You guys are awesome!  And I now have a few wonderful jack-o carving links that have been lovingly bookmarked {smiling}
Wanna know what sucks, though?  I will not be able to get anything done for this week's challenge!  I know.

I SUCK... and not in a good way.

However, I do have a wonderful excuse and it's not even made up!  I am working at my day job all week (good AND bad, all at the same time), AND I will be teaching classes at the house (papercrafting & stamping), AND I have a super fun long weekend starting Friday (fun stamping weekend with some fellow TAC demos... as well as teaching Copic coloring!).  So, as you can see, unless I can pull something outta my... ummm... by some stroke of geniusness get something done Thursday night, you will have to do without me.
{sniffling... chin quivering... }

There WILL be two Simply Betty posts this week, though... only because I had a deadline :)  There will be some great build up to the July 15th release day and hop, so be sure to clicky over there
{pointing to SBS DT list in the sidebar}

Thanks, guys!  I'll make it up to ya'... swear!
Really.
Promise.
I totally mean it.
{conceals horns beneath halo VERY well}

Dire Warning...

Ok, I'll admit it... this one is pretty creepy :)  I mean it must be... Poot (Eric) threatened to have me committed last night ;)  He kept muttering to the babies (four-legged with fur):  "mommy is psycho... "
muhuwah ahhh ahh ahh ahhhhhhhhhh

Talk about fabulous therapy.  I'm tellin' ya'... give me something to color & an edge distresser and I am happy :)  See?

And have you tried Copics on kraft cardstock... it is so yummy.  You get a completely different shade of color, and it's all muted.  Fan-tab-u-lous-ness, I'm just sayin'.  It's great for darker cards, so you don't end up with a stark white image panel.  Me likey... a lot.

Stamps:  Winter (Stampotique), sentiment (River City Rubberworks), skull (Bombshell)
Paper:  basic brown, scarlet, kraft cardstocks (TAC), Bazzill green
Other:  EK Success edger punch, Scor-bug, Crystal Lacquer
Copics:  0, YR04, YR18, R29, E57, V99, G21, G85, BG72, BG78, BV23

I added a bit-o-lacquer to his heart... couldn't get a good shot of it, so you'll have to trust me ;)  And I went a little Scor-bug happy, but the texture worked perfect, me thinks.

What do you think... are you scared?  :)

Fairy princess...

I have had this fairy all colored up with no where to go!  I just haven't been feelin' the mojo flowin'... I'm thinkin' it's this dreary weather... ugh.  So, I tried to use a sketch... let me just say that I do not use sketches... they are hard for me to design with for some reason.  That being said, I am not happy with the card, just happy with colored image :)  So I'll include this on the Copic Creations Challenge No. 24 for blonde hair and faces/skin tones.

Maybe you would have better luck with this sketch... it's over at the Smeared and Smudged forum, and it's the March Smeared and Smudged Very Sketchy Challenge.  And of course, this goes along with the princess theme here at HDH, except she's not sinister enough :)

I really like how I made her sleeves look sheer and the two-toned wings.

Stamps:  FY39 Elegant Fairy (StampItCrazy), Yield to the Princess (TAC)
Paper:  white ultra smooth & black (TAC), DCWV blue, & Bazzill gold cardstocks
Ink:  Tuxedo Memento, Noir & Cognac Palettes
Other:  Bazzill Bitty Blooms, Copic markers, turquoise sequins, gems (Hobby Lobby), Diamond Stickles

Hello Dolly... take two

I couldn't resist doing another card for the HDH030 Hello Dolly challenge :)  Especially since a blogging buddy of mine, Melisa, sent me a couple of stamped images... with a little nudge to Goth them out a bit ;)  This one is for you, Melisa!!

I also wanted to participate in Copic Creations challenge No. 24.  I just started following this challenge blog... they have some great tips!  I chose to do Skin Tones and a Brunette Hair technique... and maybe this qualifies for the Feathering technique, too?!

Stamps:  boy w/ wagon (B-line Designs), dolly (Kraftin' Kimmie), Aged Ornaments (TAC), skull (Bombshell), unknown sentiment

Ink:  Moulin Rouge, Charcoal, & Noir Palettes, Memento Tuxedo

Other:  Copic markers

The boy image did NOT have the rusty knife in his hands originally (of course)... I drew that little twisted element myself  ;)

Don't worry, Copic Creations people... I'm working on a not-so-twisted entry, too!

So, Melisa... did it live up to your expectations? :)

HDH017 - Spooky Sprites... twisted Christmas style...

Keep in mind that I said that for this challenge, you can use something with a fairie, pixie, or other wee ones... my wee one is an elf :)  Not just any elf... a very, very evil elf.  He is probably one of the most evil little buggers I've seen... thank you Torrente!

Stamps:  All Things Christmas (TAC sentiment), Santa Baby (Torrente)
Paper:  TAC's Scarlet, Black & White UltraSmooth cardstocks
Ink:  Noir Palette
Colorants:  Copic & Tombow markers
Other:  White gel pen, Stardust glitter pens, sheer wire ribbon

Uber-creepy, no?!  Me likey... a lot :)  These photos really do kinda suck... he is much cooler in person... you can see the shimmer and shadows much better.

Now the question is... WHICH person on my naughty list gets this :) ...

Happy Owl-o-ween :)

Ok, so Jen is a total enabler. She sent me a link to a You-Tube video showing Martha's latest punches... as soon as I saw the web, I was hosed. So yesterday I went to THREE different Michaels stores in search... SCORE! And here's a bonus: I had 50% off coupons!!! Oh don't think I wouldn't have paid full price... I might have... I mean, I could only find one of the corner punches in stock anywhere! Yeah, I know... weird... plenty of the borders, but only one lonely corner punch... and it is all mine
{muhuwah ahh ahh ahh aaaaaaaaaahh}

Sooooooooo, guess I what I made last night... how's this for cuteness? I KNOW! Why else would I add the creepy little black spider confetti... had have just a teensie touch of that "uh, ewwww" ;)

I grabbed a chunk-o-cardstock out of my 'big scrap' scrap pile and started playing... I must say that I wish the two border webs were the same so that I could overlap them if needed when punching them out. I mean, I like the look of the subtle difference, but it kinda blows for when you need just one less web. But me still likey :)

I don't know if you can see it, but the two web corners and the mat are all one piece. I just had to get a little crafty with it since I did not have the correct size of cardstock with which to start. But if you go to the Aug. 3rd post on Chelsea's blog, she's done some measuring for us!!!

If I had this to do over, I would have switched out my sewing machine thread to black and stitched the swiss dot to the base i.l.o. staples... they are a little distracting. I also would have only done a couple of corners with the splatter stamp instead of all the borders. It's a little busy for me.

Stamps: Be Square, What a Hoot ("Owl"), Glitter Goblins ("oween"), So Splattered (retired), Holiday Cheer ("Happy")

Paper: White Ultrasmooth, basic black, & Lilly Anna cardstocks

Ink: Noir Palette

Other: Elizabeth Buttons & Blossoms, Black Scrapper's Floss, Prismacolors w/ mineral oil, Tombow gray marker, dotted swiss fabric, MM pink staples, MS web punches, misc. twill ribbon, spider confetti, Target thumbtack, black marker, foam tape

Good grief... I never think there is much on a card until I list the freakin' ingredients! And most of my "misc. ribbon" notes are because I have one on those huge Ribbon-eze thingies and I have no flippin' idea who made what :)

There it is... my creepy-cute pink Halloweenie card...

What do you think?
