Just two more days until Simply Betty Stamps' Valentine Emos Release Day!!!!  Did you go check the previous previews yet from the DT?  You really should... especially Cupid Christian... he is LOL awesome!

Sooooo, on to today's preview... London!  She is so cute, greedily hugging all of her valentines... she is one popular little thing, no?

Like Valentine Betty, London has a big wink for ya'... cute, huh?

And I am loving my Scor-Tape & squinchy ribbon look...
it uses way more ribbon, but it is soooo worth it :)
The sentiment is a retired one from TAC and the ribbon is HL.
I've used MME's Alphabet Soup Boy

Be sure to check out the SBS challenge blog for the other DT's work... it is fabulous as always!

The contest ends Saturday night July 17th, so check the SBS blog for details.

And now... on to the the lovely Summer Betty!

Isn't she awesome?  For this card, I wanted Betty to be a vamp.  So instead of tanning herself by sunlight, she's getting a moon-tan :)  I added a little white lace Stickles to the moon & top of the umbrella as well as some little gray gems to Betty's suit, hair batty & umbrella.

Definitely one of my faves of the release... cute spiderweb sarong, strategically placed bat, and the webbie beach umbrella.  Me thinks she has a bit of a "come hither" look, no?  :)  And do you see the texture of the moon... me likey!

HDH045 Macabre Monday challenge...

Thought I'd post this before the weekend gets too far away from me.  Of course it didn't help that I slept in until 10am!!!  I KNOW.  But, I didn't go to bed until the wee hours of the morning, so it's not like I'm THAT big of a loser :)  I was up watching some LAME horror movie... I didn't even wait until the end to change the channel... yeah, THAT lame.

Anyway, on to today's bit of creepy cuteness :)  I FINALLY finished my entry for this week's masking challenge!  And so sorry... it IS cute.  :)

I had the idea for this since I first saw this set in the new TAC catalogue at seminar.  Well, I didn't have the broom and hat in mind, but the rest... definitely.  I admit, it looked better in my head... it looks kinda cluttered and busy now.  I should have left off the broom & hat... but I LOVE that broom stamp.  And isn't she such a cute little witch... all ready for bed in her pink curlers?!

Stamps:  Movie Night, Spring Dream and All Season Swirls (retired TAC), broom (Battle Axe), sentiment (Viva Las Vegas)
Paper:  Penelope & brown cardstocks, Cougar white cardstock
Other:  Lime Stickles
Copics:  0, YR02, YR04, YR07, YR18, YR23, YR24, YG01, YG03, YG91, V01, V06, V09, RV02, RV10, RV11, RV13, E09, E31, E35, E53, E57, E59, BG02

Here is the original stamp image (above).  I masked over the little girl on the left.  I LOVE the hair curlers.  They make me smile.  They remind me of when I was a very little girl... I would watch my sisters & mom put them in their hair.  I also masked the sentiment/swirls & a teensie bit of the broom.

So much fun to color... I need to work on my wood floor technique more.  Maybe I should google you-tube that.  Her hair & face turned out awesome, me thinks.

What do you think?

:)
See?!

Next to all of the Halloweenie Emos, this is my FAVORITE Emo to date.  Look at that sassy little wink as she blows a kiss... LOVE it.

Macabre Monday #013 - Bizarre Beauty School Dropout

Welcome to Haunted Design House's Macabre Monday challenge!

HDH Macabre Monday Rules:
1. Create a Halloweenie SOMETHING (card, scrap page, altered item, whatever) that follows the specific Macabre Monday challenge given. Cutesy is fine, but creepy is better :) However, no extra 'points' are given either way.
2. You have until the following Sunday night @ 5pm central time to post your creation and linky back here.
3. If you upload to any online galleries (TACPCC, PW, PCP, SCS, etc.), please tag the title using HDH013.
4. I'll have monthly contest giveaways... tune in for additional details.
5. I'll be selecting a weekly Gruesome Twosome (my top two favorite creations) from all the players. At the end of every month these will be compiled and a Master of Macabre will be selected. He/she will be asked to be a guest blogger for the following month, if they so wish, and receive a little giftie from me... this could be stamp sets, handmade items, papers, halloweenie embellishments... you just never know.

Ok, my little pretties... your challenge this week:
Bizarre Beauty School Dropout

Create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween page, project or card featuring a made-up macabre madame...  a stylin' sinister sister... or a captivating cadaverous chick

If she could have been a hottie at one time, she qualifies for this challenge!

Here's my take...
I think I'm going to name her Auntie Mame'd.  ;)  Look at those flowin' locks of hair... & dig the outfit!  "high maintenance" is right.

This reminds me... you know how "back in the day" they were sooooo prudish and uptight?  Then why, pray tell, did they wear those crazy corsets, and dresses that basically shouted "hey!  look at my girls!"?
I'm just sayin'.

Don't you LOVE this image?!  So creepy-coolAuntie Mame'd took me a little while to color... yep... I've got to start figuring out how to use those Copics.  Diggin' the highlights in her hair... and I'm really liking how the shadows of her face came out, too.  I'm not crazy about the pink blouse... maybe it needs more shading...

Stamps:  HAL0905 from Stamp It Crazy (look under "new images"), This Girl (The Angel Company - TAC), spider web (Inkadinkado)
Paper:  Penelope (orange), White UltraSmooth & basic black cardstocks (TAC), misc. pink & green cardstocks
Other:  Copic markers, Scor-Pal & Scor-Bug, pop dots

I used the Dazzle VM to create the spider web background... it has a nice subtle shimmer in real life.  And I can't seem to get enough of the Scor-Bug... I love that thing.

I'll announce the Gruesome Twosome for week #012 in a separate post...

And just for grins... I'm going to be doing another bonus drawing this week for all that participate in HDH013...
... so let's see those beauties!!!
Do you accept this week's challenge?

Halloweenie Project Playlist on TAC's website...

Ok, so I haven't been posting much lately, right?  Well, part of the reason is because I was busy creating these lovelies:  http://www.theangelcompany.net/PromoProjectPlaylist.html !  Click on the Fall Into Fabulous title to see the stamp specials, and click on the individual photos (including the Boo-berry one) for a closer look at the projects :)

I had an absolute blast, and these stamp sets make me want to host a Halloweenie bash even more than before!  I LOVE how the two mummy things turned out... so much fun!  I think I'll be doing several of these projects to sell at my upcoming craft fair booth... most definitely.

Thanks for looking!  And if you have any questions on recipes, etc., just email me and ask!

Boo Sprite Boy... Mojo Monday Sketch

You knew this one was comin', right? He's freakin' cute, Yo! :) As soon as I saw this little dude in the new TAC catalogue, I wanted to give him a spider yo-yo... that's just how I roll :)

I saw the Mojo Monday #94 sketch and really liked it, so I started grabbing trims and halloweenie cardstocks and started layering. No patterned paper!

Stamps: Victorian Elements, Spunky Sprite Boys, Happy Haunting, Punk Princess (retired)

Paper:
Basic Black & Olive cardstocks, Premium White, Bazzill Mono-Yellow Oranges, Mulberry Meadow cardstock (purpl
e - retired)

Ink:
Burnt Umber & Noir Palettes, Moonlight White Brilliance, VersaMark

Other:
Pop dots, Prismacolors w/ mineral oil, foam tape, distresser, misc. trims, Creative Cafe button, orange blingy

It kinda looks a little busy, but I really wanted to use my new brocade stamp on a creepy card :) I stamped the boy on the white panel and then colored it in with a black marker... this gives a great shadow around the image after it is up on pop dots!

What is that little orange blingy, you ask? JoAnn's had these flip-flop adhesive jewels for half off... I grabbed the orange & black set immediately... me thinks I should go back for more :)

You should totally check out Mojo Monday's sketch... it was a fun one!

It's never too early for Halloween... Boo Sprite Girl

Haa haa! I received several replies from FB & Twitter after my status update last night :) So, here is the little bit o' cuteness I was talkin' about:

Boo Sprite Girl

{squeal}

Isn't she abso-freakin-lutely adorable? I LOVE LOVE LOVE this new set from TAC. So versatile... I mean, we all know I can spook-up just about anything... but come on, isn't the image cute?

Stamps: Spunky Sprite Girls, Glitter Goblins (might be back in September), Punk Princess (retired)
Paper: Bazzill Mono-Oranges, Basic Black & Olive cardstocks, & Premium White cardstock
Ink: Noir Palette, VersaMark
Other: pop dots, black lace, distresser, Prismacolors w/ mineral oil, grey Tombow marker

I missed a spot on her hand, but I'll fix it later... just a quick swipe with the blending stump! The woven background is a leftover from my Paper Wings design team project, so that should peak a little interest, there {insert evil smiley w/ raised eyebrow & horns here}

The VersaMarked background really popped after I sponged a bit of Noir ink over the edges. The orange was really bright, and the Noir toned it down quite a bit.

What would be AWESOME is if I had a spring under the skull instead of a pop dot... oooooooo... me likey!

Boo Tri-fold paper bag tutorial... and a challenge!!

This month, it was my turn to teach a make-n-take for the Gardner Stamp Club that meets at the library. Patti wanted to do the Fold Over Treat Envelope that is in the back of the TAC catty [though she doesn't remember saying that... silly Patti!], so I chose to do a Christmas version. It's a wonderful little project that I'll be sharing with you in another post, but I needed the back-story for this post.
[can I get any wordier?... like you care about the back-story...]
Anyhoo, the treat envie only uses the top portion of a lunch sack, so I had a ton of these 'bag butts' left over and they really wanted to become something wonderful.
[wouldn't you want to if you were referred to as a butt?]... I digress...
Here's how I created my Boo Tri-fold Bag Card:
I lightly stippled Burnt Umber Palette ink around all of the edges and distressed the edges of the cardstock & DP (except for the inside piece, which I fixed on another one that I made!). I also stamped the paint splotches from So Splattered (retired) using B.U. I stamped the house image from Halloween Town in Coffee Bean Brilliance onto a square of green Penelope cardstock & sponged the edges w/ Hydrangea & Eggplant VersaMagic inks. I added a little color pencil to the windows & door and I then spritzed the square with Olive Glimmer Mist... OMG... freakin' awesome stuff! My friend, Cindy, had given me this for Christmas last year and I just now used it... WTH? None of the photos capture the true awesomeness of this stuff... you'll just have to trust me ;)... I sped up the drying time with my heat gun (so impatient) and then edged the window panes, part of the roof & tree, and the birds w/ a Stardust Glitter Pen (you know, to look like the moon is shining on it). Added a chipboard tag from TAC's Essential Elements, after grunging it up a bit & stamping the Boo!, with some Scrapper's Floss & tied it to some purple ribbon I had in my stash.

Inside, I stamped the skull from Halloween Town, in the same two purple VersaMagic colors above, onto the green Penelope cardstock and then layered it (sorta) onto an orange Penelope CS. Highlighted a bit with the glitter pen again!
And then on the VERY inside, glued a piece of Penelope DP to span across a fold and stamped the sentiment (retired: Boo Bash) at the bottom.

I had a fun time with this... no need to be pristine or perfect with it... the grungier the better!
What do you think?! Me likey... again!

Hey! Let's do another challenge!!
I want to see some butts... paper bag butts that is! ;) Your mission is to create something with a paper lunch bag butt... do you accept? Leave a comment and link it up!!!!
I've had a few people ask how big my bag butt is... the other project required 4-1/4" to be cut off the top of the sack, so mine is whatever is leftover from that!
