Fiendishly Fun Friday - Cupcakes and knitting and dolls, oh my!

This makes me smile so much - the Dark Side is taking over the whole of the crafting world, Bwahahahahahahah!
I found this first lot on
Slightly Warped, but there are no credits given, so we can't all give praise to whichever fiendish soul created these little beauties :(

But these little beauties I can give credit for, we should all bow down before xsomnis, who has these pics up at her Flickr account

And last but definitely not least, we have dollmaker cArNiVaLiTy, who creates these awesomely creepy dolls. You can see her Flickr album HERE and her Etsy shop HERE

TBD Challenge #4: The Corpse Bride

I gave up on the butterflies for the moment, and decided to play along with The Burtonesque Dolls challenge this week!  It's been awhile since I had seen Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride, so Tuesday night I popped in the ol' dvd and snuggled in with the K-9 kiddos.

I forgot that it was a musical... of which I'm not a fan... but I still liked the movie :)  The dark palette with the eerie blue moonlight... love it!  So that set the tone for my card today.

Once again, I grabbed my Haute Couture diva from The Angel Company... LOVE her.  This isn't the first time she's been a creepy bride.  Remember THIS card?!

I created a fence with my latest border punch (another "LOVE it"!)  I used the Scor-bug to create the pickets and added a bit o' green bling... it is her wedding day after all :)

Stamps:  Haute Couture (retired TAC)
Paper:  Bazzil, white ultrasmooth & black cardstocks
Ink:  Palette Noir
Other:  EK Success edger punches, tulle, Scor-bug, misc. gems
Copics:  0, BV20, BV23, G12

I will say that the photos totally suck... she really does look awesome in person... as does the fence.  I think my camera kept focusing the damn tulle instead of the main parts of the card, so it's all fuzzy.... but you get the jist.  Thanks for a fun challenge TBD!!

HDH037 Bruiser and the Killer Dustbunnies...

Yeay... got my card done, and only a day late :)  I went for a touch of the cute on this one guys... hopefully your not too disappointed... I'm sure Poot is happier with this one ;)  I used white in addition to the purple, teal, black & yellow requirements, but oh well!

This awesome image is from Stamp It Crazy... too darn cute, right... I colored her with Copics.  Well, when I first got this stamp, I was trying to figure out what that thing was on her broom handle (the yellow thing).  And then it hit me like a bus... it must be a huge dust bunny, right?!  I know they are prevalent around here... only laced with dog hair :)

The outside sentiment is from Bugawumps, and on the inside, the card says:
"...like the Killer Dustbunnies under your bed."

Oh!  And see that fan-freakin'-tastic black holey trim?  That is a bit of yumminess from Creepy Glowbugg... LOVE IT!  Thanks so much... you're pretty sweet... in an off-the-wall, pseudo creepy kinda way :)
The web stamp is Inkadinkado & was stamped in VersaMark, the spider is from a set gifted to me from a fellow TAC demo, Seleise... thanks, man, you are sealin' awesome.  The teal cardstock is something random, purple is DCWV, and the black, white, & yellow are all from TAC.

I know I'm behind in announcing a couple of past winners... I'm hoping to get to it tomorrow since I'm "working" from home  :)

First, an apology... then the good stuff...

I'm usually pretty good about commenting back to bloggers that have been so kind as to do the same for me.  However, as of late, I have totally been shirking my duties!!  I won't go into to details, but it's been a little crazy around here!  I will try to get back into the swing of things next week or the week after... hopefully my projects at work will be done and gone by then!  So, please know that I really do appreciate all of your kind words!!

Now, onto the fun stuff.  Are these fabric witch boots NOT the COOLEST things ever?!  My friend and fellow TAC Angel, Angela, made them for me as part of an Art Share we were in together.  I cannot tell you how fabulous they really are, and the pictures do not do them justice.  Thanks so much Angela!  These babies will be displayed year-round... no way could I put them away in a box ;)

Angela is one talented lady, and though she has been having computer issues, please pop in a look at some of her past work... beautiful stuff!  I've been used to seeing her paper-crafted projects, and now the fabric work... I can only imagine what else she does!

Macabre Monday #003 - Wildly Wicked Winged Things

Welcome to the Haunted Design House's Macabre Monday challenge!

HDH Macabre Monday Rules:
1. Must have fun and not stress.
2. Create a Halloweenie SOMETHING (card, scrap page, altered item, whatever) that follows the specific Macabre Monday challenge given. Cutesy Halloween is fine, but creepy is better :) However, no extra 'points' are given either way.
3. You have until the following Sunday night @ 5pm central time to post your creation and linky back here.
4. If you upload to any online galleries (PW, PCP, SCS, etc.), please tag the title using HDH003.
5. Starting in September, I'll have monthly contest giveaways... more details to follow.
6. I'll be selecting a weekly Gruesome Twosome (my top two favorite creations) from all the players. At the end of every month these will be compiled and a Master of Macabre will be selected. He/she will be asked to be a guest blogger for the following month, if they so wish, and receive a little giftie from me (I have NO idea what this will be!!).

Ok, my little pretties... your challenge this week:
Wildly Wicked Winged Things

This week's challenge is to use something with wings on your creation. Fairies, moths, butterflies, birds, bats... just make sure they are a little wicked. This is what I've created... a little Moonlight Fairie. Be sure to click on the photos to blow up to see details :)

Stamps: mushroom fairie (Stamp it Crazy), Fresh Air Favorites (retired TAC)

Paper: Mulberry Meadow cardstocks (retired TAC), black & White UltraSmooth cardstocks (TAC)

Ink: Jardin Moss, Landscape, Cognac, Orangerie & Noir Palettes

Other: Grungeboard, Crystal Laquer, Prismacolors w/ mineral oil, VersaMarker, clear embossing powder, black lace & white swiss dot fabrics, Glimmer Mists

See the creepy-cool swiss dot fabric? It used to be white :) I sprayed it with olive & cranberry Glimmer Mists and dried it with a heat gun. I chose to over-heat it so that it would melt a bit & scrunch up. It feels really funky in real life and there is a lovely subtle shimmer from the mists.

After coloring the image, I applied Versa-Marker & embossing powder over the fairie & mushroom. Then I sponged the background & stamped the foliage. To really make the fairie stand out, I applied Crystal Lacquer.

Now it's your turn! This should be easier than the first two challenges :) so I hope to see a lot of participation this week!!

Happy Owl-o-ween :)

Ok, so Jen is a total enabler. She sent me a link to a You-Tube video showing Martha's latest punches... as soon as I saw the web, I was hosed. So yesterday I went to THREE different Michaels stores in search... SCORE! And here's a bonus: I had 50% off coupons!!! Oh don't think I wouldn't have paid full price... I might have... I mean, I could only find one of the corner punches in stock anywhere! Yeah, I know... weird... plenty of the borders, but only one lonely corner punch... and it is all mine
{muhuwah ahh ahh ahh aaaaaaaaaahh}

Sooooooooo, guess I what I made last night... how's this for cuteness? I KNOW! Why else would I add the creepy little black spider confetti... had have just a teensie touch of that "uh, ewwww" ;)

I grabbed a chunk-o-cardstock out of my 'big scrap' scrap pile and started playing... I must say that I wish the two border webs were the same so that I could overlap them if needed when punching them out. I mean, I like the look of the subtle difference, but it kinda blows for when you need just one less web. But me still likey :)

I don't know if you can see it, but the two web corners and the mat are all one piece. I just had to get a little crafty with it since I did not have the correct size of cardstock with which to start. But if you go to the Aug. 3rd post on Chelsea's blog, she's done some measuring for us!!!

If I had this to do over, I would have switched out my sewing machine thread to black and stitched the swiss dot to the base i.l.o. staples... they are a little distracting. I also would have only done a couple of corners with the splatter stamp instead of all the borders. It's a little busy for me.

Stamps: Be Square, What a Hoot ("Owl"), Glitter Goblins ("oween"), So Splattered (retired), Holiday Cheer ("Happy")

Paper: White Ultrasmooth, basic black, & Lilly Anna cardstocks

Ink: Noir Palette

Other: Elizabeth Buttons & Blossoms, Black Scrapper's Floss, Prismacolors w/ mineral oil, Tombow gray marker, dotted swiss fabric, MM pink staples, MS web punches, misc. twill ribbon, spider confetti, Target thumbtack, black marker, foam tape

Good grief... I never think there is much on a card until I list the freakin' ingredients! And most of my "misc. ribbon" notes are because I have one on those huge Ribbon-eze thingies and I have no flippin' idea who made what :)

There it is... my creepy-cute pink Halloweenie card...
