Do you own a small business? Have you ever owned one before? Do you know that particular feeling of locking up as the last customer leaves or shipping off the first order of the day? It’s easy to love small businesses. They’re a happy hallmark of industrious American life. And the picture of a hard working couple running a company out of their garage (who knows, maybe it will be the next Apple!) is pretty much irresistible to me. So I send my dollars the way of small businesses whenever possible.
This Saturday is Small Business Saturday and American Express is sponsoring this post so that we can spread the idea of seeking out and supporting our favorite independent shops this weekend. Which I think is pretty darn cool. To show my support, I plan to wake up bright and early on Saturday and head straight to the DuffeyRoll Cafe where I will promptly buy 2 dozen of my favorite (and totally local) cinnamon rolls to power my shopping day.
