Sang Har Porridge at Restoran Lit Heong, Bukit Sri Bintang, Kepong.

As some of you may know, I am involved in the construction of the Northshore Gardens, the luxury 40 storey condominium project in Desa ParkCity. Anyways, in the past 2 years, there has been a particular restaurant that we always go to for lunch. It had some really good 'seong tong lala' (lala with soup) which was very appetizing and tasty.

Anyways, the restaurant was Restoran Lit Heong, at Bukit Sri Bintang in Kepong.

I love to eat sang har (large freshwater prawns). And I usually order my sang har with my noodles - hence sang har mee. Recently, I have been having funny cravings. For some odd reason unknown, I felt like eating sang har porridge - which seem to sound very very very rare. Google that - and you'll get only 1 restaurant that serves this - and surprisingly, it is this Restoran Lit Heong.

Restoran Lit Heong, Bukit Sri Bintang, Kepong.

I have been coming here for 2 years - and I only discovered they have some really good sang har porridge. Gahhhhhhh =D

They have two shops on the same row - next to each other. One is open air, the other is airconditioned. So, on a hot day, go to the air-conditioned one. If you want a smoking zone, then take the other side, or the roadside tables =)

The awesome 'seong tong lala' - it is a must order!!!!!! =)

We decided to order a little vegetable dish... otherwise too much meat and seafood! =P

The ham tan har kou. Mantis prawn with salted eggs. Aweeesommeeesss... =)

And now... lemme present to you... the main event, the showstopper, the cravings... ahh...

The sang har chuk, or sang har porridge, or fresh water prawn porridge. =)

I would suggest ordering like... half a prawn per person, it would be perfect and just nice already. Do bear in mind the porridge - being the watery type, is actually quite 'filling' - and to me, half a prawn would do the trick already per person. Unless of course, you want more prawns. =)

Two prawns for 4 people, cooked in boiling porridge in a nice claypot. Old schoolll!!!

Seriously, do you know that porridge actually helps digestion, it is a good energy food, and it cures dehydration too!!! =) But you are not a rice fan but want to eat some form of rice - porridge would be the best =)

One last picture... ahhh... we cleared the entire claypot =P *likes*
