The Blue Cow Cafe, Plaza Damas.

This is yet another addition to the Pet Friendly Restaurants list that I have. =)

Actually I have heard of this place before for quite awhile already - but never had the chance to go. Ally (my darling girl) has been there with her Mummy before - you can see it here.

It's called The Blue Cow Cafe. =)

I think I wanna try the chicken stroganoff next time! Anyways, Blue Cow Cafe is located at Plaza Damas; if you're driving, just head to the highest part - go up the 2nd ramp next to Hartamas Shopping Centre and you'll see it... =)

They have a fridge full of pork goodies!!!

...and much more fresh pork for sale!!!!!

The seating arrangements were quite the cosy type; kinda close and all, and then the wooden tables and chairs just makes the feel better.

My pork burger. =)

The roast chicken.

Anyways, I wanna present to you today... that this place.. is also PET FRIENDLY!!!!!!

This is the darling Perry on the table.

Perry and yours truly. =)

Fat Spoon, Damansara Uptown.

I go to Damansara Uptown almost every week to send my darling girls Fatty and Ally to shower. The wait could range from 2 hours right up til like the evening; sometimes when the wait is short, we'll stop by the Rojak Bandar at the corner, this time we decided to check out Fat Spoon. =)

Fat Spoon - on the same row as Wondermilk. =P

It serves some pretty interesting and authentic home-cooking, and they call it Grandma's special recipes. =) I like that. I heard their Moo Moo Burger is pretty good, as well as their Homemade Hot Chocolate... ahhh... heavenly!

Their menu is damn cute - in a kiddie book. =)

...and here's ONE KEY FEATURE of the place!!!

If you sit outside, it is also PET FRIENDLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, Perry got to check out the place too, while his mum and aunty are at the shower.

The affogato coffee. Mmmm... *likes*

The claypot lou shee fun. Topped with an egg on top!

The Fat Spoon specialty - the Noodles!!! =)

Jarrod & Rawlins, Bukit Damansara.

Heya... I have decided to let Ally guestblog again today... =)

Greetings everyone!!!!!!! Merry belated Christmas and a happy coming New Year!!!

It's been awhile since I last blogged for Daddy - Daddy had blogged about this place before previously, yes, this is JARROD & RAWLINS - that was the time that I didnt go cos I was sick... remember? Anyways, this time I am here... I have been here quite a number of times already. Daddy loves to come here, and he enjoys bringing me here too!!! I love to come here - COS I always get to eat some CHEEEEESEEE!!!!!!!!!!! =)

What's that on the table? mmm.... Kilkenny and a Paulaner.... mmm....

Anyways, this is me... in case you forgotten how I look like.

My name is ALLY - and I am a daughter, a sister to Fatty, and recently, an aunty to Perry too =)

While my daddy loves to try out various food at different places, I like to try out various food as well.. in this case, a different drink. I took a deep breath of the Paulaner beer... *wowwww* I'm feeling high already. Okay - gonna skip that.

Then Uncle Amos and Uncle Joe came along, but they drank their own drinks - nothing for me. I had already finished all the cheese by now.... =(

Here's another emo picture of me. Hee hee....

I try to show various facial expressions to 'con' my Daddy to give me more food. But we had already ate the gouda cheese, as well as the pork 'n' herbs sausages... so there were no other food left. I'm stillll hunngrrryyy.....

Okay thats all for now, I need to take my afternoon nap. See yaaa!!!

xoxo,
Allykins

Heng Bak Kut Teh, Taman Kepong.

Some people have been branding me as the babi man on Twitter. Haha. Perhaps and maybe I just love and enjoy my pork too much. But anyways, I do self-proclaimed to be a pork lover; I am a pork lover and importantly, I believe I have sampled and tried enough places - enough pork burgers, enough bak kut teh places to know a good place from an average place.

Drive into a hidden spot in Taman Kepong and you'll find a hidden gem - yes, it is indeed a bak kut teh place. I have this little policy of mine which I set recently - if the food is good, I'll blog about it. There are some good places that I dont blog - why? I like to keep some hidden gems to myself (so that it doesnt get too packed after other people discovered it - like LeVain =( Anyways, for Heng Bak Kut Teh - I feel it is a secret that everyone needs to know about.

Heng Bak Kut Teh Delights.

For bookings, call Billy or Anderson to find out more and enquire too.

How did HENG BAK KUT TEH came about? According to its blog (YES, they do have a BLOG!) - it all started in Johor Bahru (southern of Msia), by the Heng Family in 1960. The whole idea was to create a healthier way to eating Bak Kut Teh. Since the family is so much into Bak Kut Teh daily, they were in serious need to develop a much more healthier way in order to consume it daily. The family 1st started to cook for themselves only, but the aroma was just too tempting, moving across its neighbors. Neighbors started coming over asking for a taste of this, and after 3 years of free sampling and free food to its neighbors, VOILAAA the birth of Heng Bkt Delights was formed in 1963, and since then, numerous students took up learning the "Heng Bkt Recipe" from the Heng family.

The place has got a simple setting - in fact, the floors are only cement render. But the fact that it is very brightly lit makes the place look very clean and pleasant.

The lou keok wan - or lou chu yoke. =) a.k.a. Dark sauce pork knuckle ahaha.

If you are a fan of lou chu yoke, as much as I am, I think you would love this a lot!!! =) I feel this is a must try - with its awesome tinge of vinegar in the dish, it is a superb appetizer - perfect to start off your dinner.

The bak kut teh. =)

The soup was clear, and it wasnt overly herbal - which made it perfect.

As I boasted before, I have tried so many different bakuteh places, but not many can satisfy my bakuteh cravings. Some soups were tasteless, some overly herbal, some too thick, some just cant make it at all. Heng's bak kut teh soup was pretty clear (with minimal pork fats), and importantly for some lighter eaters, it wasnt overly herbal.

The shuen lat choy.

Another good start to your dinner. I dont take much vege - but I usually take the hamchoys and the shuen lat choys. This one here - was very sour and spicy; it hits the tastebuds right away and you'll feel extra motivated to eat more. Aweesomeee...

The special rice.

If you're expecting the 'yao fan' that you get elsewhere - you'll be disappointed. However, Heng Bak Kut Teh does a even better alternative to that - they give you their special recipe wu tau fan (yam rice). I heard they have the kam kua fan as well - but unfortunately I didnt get to try it out. Will check it out the next time and update here ok.

Then the next dish was served... ahhh... the lenses all fogging up... mmm...

This is the chu keok chou - or in some places, they call it chu keok keong.

Chu keok chou - or pork leg vinegar (ahaha direct translation) - is an awesome pork dish. I know it is not usually served with bak kut teh - but you just have to try it as well. I suggest you to go to HENG with an empty stomach - this way you can try out everything there and eat more!!!

Next... another rare combination at bak kut teh places...

The wu chew chu tou tong!!! Black pepper chu tou tong!!!

On a cold cold rainy day, and you wanna warm yourself up and make yourself sweat, comeby and order the chu tou tong. It was one of my favourites for the night - but I only took the soup ahaha, not a fan of intestines =)

If you thought they wont be having any other rare dishes with bak kut teh - we had the wong chao kai as well!!!!!!!

Wong chao kai - or yellow rice wine chicken - is yet another difficult dish which I havent had many good ones. Most were either tasteless, or not enough wine ahhaha LOL. This one at HENG's... pretty good, pretty nice... if you finish their soup, I think you might just get drunk ahaha LOL.

The total amount of food that we had for the 4 of us. The damage.. about RM70 only.

Tasty, nice and affordable. Just how food should be.

Thats not all - they are PET FRIENDLY too!!! =P

The Hill @ Damansara Heights, KL.

This is the next cool joint in KL - it is located on the same road as Jarrod & Rawlins Damansara Heights (behind Menara HP) - and its all the way up the hill - hence the name - The Hill.

It is technically not officially opened yet, but it will be very soon. =)

The lounge area.

A nice courtyard to enjoy your beer.

See what I mean... they are still under construction. =)

The best part is.... it is DOG FRIENDLY!!!!!!! Yayyyyy can drink and can bring my beloved Fatty and Ally there too!!!

The lower terrace area, nice spacious and cooling too.

Another spot at the lower terrace - perfect for small get togethers and parties!

The lowest part of the courtyard.

...overlooking some mini landscape and fountain...

The view of the bar.

One advice though... if you dont enjoy walking up staircases, perhaps you might want to park at jockey - or at the higher part of the ramp, so the walk would be minimal.

Ally is looking so happyyyyy!!! =P

...a pint of Hoegarden? I think I'm gonna bring Joe here soon.

The menu currently is still quite below expectations, not many choices yet. But they are going to beef it up further... so wait for that!!!

The buffalo wings and the fish fingers.

The prawn skewers. =P
