Amidst a wide offering of latest cellphone and mobile devices, visitors to the GoMobile 2010 expo at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre will also get a chance to walk through the nation's telecommunications history.
With old phones on loan from as far away as Miri in Sarawak, the exhibits are a result of the initiative undertaken by Mobile World Magazine to persuade owners of these old devices to lend their items on display from Friday to Sunday. A replica of an iconic phone booth will also be on display for visitors, who can get wowed by just how rapidly mobile phone technology progressed barely 25 years, when a mobile phone was then the size of a suitcase!
But, the highlight will be the many applications and innovative services developed by Malaysians in mobile telephony technology, plus being the showcase of the best mobile lifestyle trends. And for the third year running, the mobile lifestyle expo will feature the latest in one venue for customers seeking great bargains.
Sponsors include Celcom Axiata Bhd and its chief executive officer Datuk Seri Shazali Ramly, who said: "Celcom is proud to lend our support to GoMobile 2010 as it shares our vision of promoting and enabling the mobile lifestyle among Malaysians.
"Consumers should take this great opportunity and visit the GoMobile 2010 Expo as Celcom will also be offering exclusive deals during the expo." Other partners for the expo include the Multimedia Development Corporation, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, Maxis Communications Bhd, Ericsson Malaysia, BlackBerry and AmBank Group.
There will also be a fun promotion calling on Malaysians to "Get Your Friends to GoMobile." The top eight who manage to bring the most friends to the expo will win a BlackBerry Torch or Blackberry Curve 3G phone. Other prizes, such as Ipod Shuffle music players and hundreds of T-shirts, are up for grabs.
