September 9-11 - An Awesome Foodylicious Weekend =)

Before I start with this long blog post, I would like to wish all my Muslim friends and their families a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. It was a very nice and long public holiday weekend - and I think I managed to capitalize on it fully. Unfortunately - it was not to catch up sleep. But instead, for meeting ups, gatherings and events too!!!

Over the 3 day weekend, I took a total of 589 photos; if I were to do a SINGLE blog post for the happenings over the 3 days, I think this post would have like 100 photos already. Hence, I rather not bore you so much... instead, I'm going to split the weekend into a summary post, and then a further breakdown of the individual food joints etc.

Day ONE - Friday, September 10th.

It was a public holiday, the 1st day of Hari Raya. I had just gotten back the day before at 3am - totally plastered and hammered, spent about a good 1k at Opera the previous night for some drinks with some colleagues and got home totally gone. But I got up at 8am and brought my parents out for breakfast. See... I am a good son =P

After breakfast, I chilled around for a bit. And then took a nap and so on. Woke up after that, and the original plan of scones at Carcosa was somewhat cancelled, and decided to have some late lunch nearby at Victoria Station with Eric and Jac.

Shark fin's soup and escargot at Victoria Station.
The only thing I liked about here is that they had plenty of nice parking right in front - hence I could take the 6.0litre V12 British monster out. Apart from that, I think the soup was alright. The rest... it was just plain turning-off.

...and then caught up with Ezra and the PopTeeVee boys for the 2nd part of That Effing Show's special Malaysia Day music video. =) It was starting to rain, but I think we managed to get some good shots though.

...after the shoot, continued to follow them and ended up at Sriananda Bhavan at Bangsar.

Awesome orgasmic garlic butter cheese naan at Sriananda Bhavan, Bangsar.
Great recommendation by Uma - I will definitely return for the naan and the tandoori chicken! Somemore its like so close to my house... best!!!!! =)

Read about the awesome garlic cheese naan session here.

Towards the night, I went to Azim's Open House at TTDI - and had some nice fun! =)

Watch the video....

Day TWO - Saturday, September 11th.

It was a great morning =) Perfect weather, and I had a long day ahead. Just a few days before, I had a random get-together session via Twitter - and the response was overwhelming I would say. 21 of us got together and met up in Shah Alam for a morning of pork goodness in the form of bak kut teh.

The famous 'under the bridge' bak kut teh.
The moment we got off the car, Kevin was telling me that this would be very good, cos it smelled so good. I had the same feeling too. However, after the bak kut teh came, I would comment that... it was not bad, but I have definitely had better ones.

Read about the bak kut teh session here.

After the breakfast bak kut teh session, some of the group had to head off somewhere else, so the rest who continued - the remaining 13 of us proceeded with the next destination.

It was a little ferry ride - to Pulau Ketam.
It has been so long since my last trip to Pulau Ketam - and I thought since I am in Klang already, I should add on Pulau Ketam to my itinery.

A little camwhoring moment with the sexy FHM girl, Michelle.

Pulau Ketam.
It was a public holiday, and apparently Pulau Ketam is quite a tourist attraction. I couldnt understand why it was so packed; I guess the people and the tourists were going there for the fresh and cheap seafood!

Our lunch at Kuai Lok Hian seafood restaurant.
13 of us - all in - the lunch costed us RM160 only. Food included fish, prawns, crabs, mantis prawns, squid, vegetable, lala, and more.

After lunch, we continued to walk a bit more...

..and that was the time when I found my talent in cooking. Ho jian.

For the return journey, we decided to take the wooden boat. I wont call it ferry really. It was more expensive, but apparently the wait was shorter. And so we thought.

Sitting at the front of the deck - 1st class seats! (mmm... I wonder what Mike was doing...)

..and then once again, the FHM girl was being mobbed by the professional photographer.

ALL OF A SUDDEN... WE WERE STOPPED BY SOME OTHER SMALLER BOAT!!!

IT WAS THE MARITIME DEPARTMENT!!!!

We had to move inside (for safety purposes I believe), and then got our ICs checked. Wow... with so many Twitterers on board, we had a super hilarious time - tweeting our experiences with the hashtag #KLRB!!!!! LOL.

After we got back to the shore, we headed off the the final destination in Klang.

For the best fried chicken in Klang Valley.
I read on a couple of food blogs that Yao Yao Ping has the best fried chicken around. I was not disappointed - in fact it was so good that I ordered some takeaway too!!! =P

It was already closed to 6pm - I was running 2 hours late for my next session. Did a little re-shuffling of the schedules and then off we headed down to Seremban for dinner!!!

Restoran Kensington, Terminal 2, Seremban.
It was a doggie friendly restaurant, so for this I brought along Fatty and Ally. Had some awesome cheap western food too... ahh... the 4th meal of the day, and my total meal costs had not exceed RM100 yet. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee........ =P

A little photo session with my darling girls at the Port Dickson beach.

...and then a picture with our country's TOP FEMALE SWIMMER. Yes, she holds like 5 national swimming records, the South East Asia's record for the 400m freestyle... and a lot more.

Got home quite late; and was super tired by then. Had to give up on clubbing plans to Zouk, Phuture and also Rootz too... DAMN! =P

Day THREE - Sunday, September 12th.

Got up early once again - and the destination was pretty same again, it was KLANG once again! This time, it was for bak kut teh, but different group and different location.

Had some really good bak kut teh, both wet and dry type at Bandar Baru Klang. After the bak kut teh, brought this group to Yao Yao Ping for more fried chicken!!!!! =) The rest of the day included a trip to Petaling Street, a nice 5-hour power nap, and then a simple salad dinner from Chili's!

Come back to my blog and read up on the special sections of the above mentioned food!!! =)
