To start off - I would like to thank CELCOM - for the invites to the RIM Blackberry 9800 Torch launch last night at Westin Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. It was my first time to Westin Hotel's Grand Ballroom - so I was really excited to see how nice it was. =) I arrived at the venue at 7pm, registered and the event started about 45 minutes later...
At the registration counter. They were serving some champagne as well as some sushi tit-bits as appetizers. Needless to say - being a bubbly fan, I had about 5 glasses of some nice champagne tonite.
The Blackberry 9800 Torch.The Blackberry 9800 Torch comes with the Blackberry 6 OS, also bundled together with the latest Blackberry web browser, and weighs an impressively light 161g. It has a 3.2" 480x640 pixel colour display screen, and some impressive battery life of 5 hours (talktime) and a standby time of 18 days! Another impressive thing about the Torch is its awesome 5MP camera!!! That would make the Blackberry Torch a must buy!!! =P
Anyways... back to the event...
It was a massive packed crowd...
Media and guests from various organizations and companies all came to grace the event. It was the first launch in Asia if I'm not mistaken, and I am honoured to be amongst the first in the country to get to see the Blackberry Torch. I met a lot of friends and contacts there at the launch as well - all being so impatient to check out the new gadget!!!
They had a little gimmick of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' - with 'Who Wants to Win a Blackberry Torch" game session - two of my friends were lucky enough to have their namecards pulled up; but unfortunately both of them lost out. In the end, another random guy walked away with a brand *new* Blackberry 9800 Torch!!!! eeeeshhhhh gerammmm!!!!!
Oh... I forgot to mention about the door gift!!!
Tiffany & Co stuffs as door gifts???
Yes!!! RIM was very generous - and gave out Tiffany & Co products as door gifts!!! The guys all got a money-clip whereas the ladies got a decorative glass box. After the launch agenda was over, DJ Goldfish then came on and was the guest DJ for the night for the afterparty!!! =) *wooootsss*
