On Malaysia Day earlier this month, I went to my best friend Ezra's book launch. It was the launch of The Nut Graph's FOUND IN MALAYSIA, as published by ZI Publications. The place... Leonardo's Dining Room at Jalan Bangkung.
Malaysia Day was also the day when #ThatEffingShow's That Okay Song premiered.
Anyways, this is Uma. The interviewer and emcee.
The crowd that was there... =) full house yooo!!!
The boss of ZI Publications and also the best friend, Ezra.
Ezra and TheNutGraph's Jacqueline Ann Surin.
Go buy the book now at your local bookstores!!!
What is this book all about? It consists of 50 carefully selected interviews conducted by the Nut Graph team of journalists, with subjects from all walks of life. High-profile personalities and celebrities like Sheila Majid and Tiara Jacquelina are included, as well as politician Sivarasa Rasiah and political scientist Dr Farish Noor. They reveal the origins of their forefathers, how they dealt with issues (including racism) in the country, and what makes them truly Malaysian. Little black and white portraits and photographs accompany each interview, making them seem more personal.
Some of the other speakers for the day... =)
...with special guest appearance from Dato Zaid Ibrahim.
After the event, I headed down to the little Malaysia Day carnival and checked out some of the stalls.... and then... guess who I saw?
....Patrick Teoh!!! =)
