Truly a WAJA-Lution - the new Proton Waja.

Did you know that our country has a national car??? In fact, it is celebrating its 25th year anniversary this year since the roll-out of its first car back in 1985. Proton's initials foray in the automobile markets started with a collaboration with Mitsubishi - I wont elaborate too much on that, but in fact back in the days, our Proton Sagas and Wiras used to be copy versions of their Japanese older brothers.

These collaborations - had somewhat created a Mitsubishi craze amongst a lot of Malaysians. In fact, I personally know quite a number of people who bought Protons - and started modifying them to look like Mitsubishi Lancers and Evos the moment they receive their cars!

Hence the term - Proton Wiralution or Wajalution.

A lot of people in fact, ranging from the super ah bengs to the super lala fellas had taken their Wiras and Wajas to modify - I mean, if you were to take the original Lancer and do a Evo convert, it's still okay and it still looks nice. But to take the Wira/Waja and do so... that is almost like that guy in China - Ferrari wannabe who converted his Toyota MR2 to become a Ferrari. =P

I read on PaulTan.org today that a re-badged Mitsubishi Lancer; will replace the current Wajas that are on the road.

I guess the finished product will look something like this.

As PaulTan had shown on his blog - the Waja replacement model, as spotted in Penang looks like this. I personally think that Proton may have found themselves a true winner here - this time, the Waja can really be a Waja-lution. At least, the body looks similar enough! =)

See! It has all the curves, the body... and hopefully, the engine too.
