At RM29 or RM32 for the other platter - the sausages looks pretty good indeed. I didnt eat it though; will try that the next time I go back there. =)
Some of us decided to order something else other than the pork burger, they were looking forward to the pork chop but it was sold out. So settled for 2nd choice - which is the RM 23 sweet 'n' sour porky steak!!! =)
Now... lets come to the verdict and the moment you've been waiting for...
First, I ordered a Hoegaarden to go with my pork burger. It was still happy hours - so it is 3 pints for RM60... pretty good value for money for this! Apparently the Hoegaarden is supposed to go well with the burger... I think it was alright.. not too bad.
Okay... now for the little ratings... remember... Looks, Taste, Juicyness, Portion and Bonus marks!
Seeing the juices spilling out + the pineapple was putting a smile on my face. The cheese... that probably put the ratings at a good 9/10. Unfortunately and however, presentation matters a lot to me.... and as what Jason had pointed out to me as well, I didnt like the satay stick sticking out of the burger, as well as the little plastic-feel plate (see through somemore!).... so for looks... the S'Mores Pork Burger gets an average 6/10.
When I sunk my teeth into the burger, I could taste the sweetness of the pineapple, the nice charcoal burn after-taste on the burger patty, the slightly salty bacon, the cheese and the sauce. For this, I'm giving it a good 8/10.
I have tried many too hard, or too soft burgers. Some too wet, some too dry. I would give the juicyness of the S'Mores pork burger a good 7/10. It wasnt oily at all, the texture was about right... so 7/10 is a good score.
As for value for money, I think the S'MORES pork burger would have struck it well here. At RM 23 only, for this reasonable size of burger + pork patty somemore, the pricing of RM23 would seem quite reasonable. But then again, for bigger eaters, it might not be enough though. So for this - it is a fair 6/10.
Bonus marks... I would want to give an 8/10 here - but then I was a little annoyed at the long wait. I know pork takes longer to cook - but NOT THIS LONG! Some of our pork burgers took close to 1 whole hour to come out... that became a no-no already. I also called up the previous night - wanted to check if they are pet-friendly anot, but to my disappointment, they didnt seem to understand what I was asking. (Too many foreign workers perhaps?) They passed the phone from 1st guy to 2nd guy, then to 3rd guy... and then just hung up. Mmmph!!! For the bonus marks, I'm only giving it a simple 5/10. Sorry.
