I thought I would start posting some general rules of thumb while building or renovating.
Whilst in design stage you should always think of ALL of your selections. And this means especially the externals and your land scaping.
It’s very important to get the whole LOOK right. Colours and selections of your façade are important so to are the other little bits and pieces.
Look at the colours you have chosen externally, now try and visualise your landscaping to complement your colour scheme. Many people miss this element of design, but this is to me one of the more important aspects.
If you don’t think you can manage putting this together, hire a landscape designer to design it for you. You then do the work to save you money.
You need also to think about your water usage, so this would mean careful planting and possibly not over planting. The more you have the more you have to water.
