TI & SBS Trick or Treat Blog Hop

Two great companies, one awesome hop :)  Christy & Betty just happen to be BIG Halloween fans, so guess what...  Yep, Tiddly Inks & Simply Betty Stamps decided to do a little swap hop... the TI DT worked with Simply Betty images, and the SBS gals got to play with Tiddly Inks images.  Should be fun!

What's even better is that this hop will involve you, too!  Yes, you can do a little Trick or Treating with us and maybe score some gift vouchers to Tiddly Inks or Simply Betty Stamps!  How?  Simply go check out Christy's blog for all of the details... she's the one that is gonna kick this hop off :)  And if you've arrived from Angela's blog, you are on the right track!

Now, here's the little twist to this hop, we were to create a Trick (a favorite technique) or a Treat (just a project to share).  Well, I'm usually a trickster, but I decided to just go for the treat this time :)
I worked with TI's Betty Belfrey... isn't she freakin' adorable!?  She was so fun to color.  And for some reason I was kinda in a scrappy mood... so I just kept layering... pop dots are my friends :)

Digi:  Betty Belfrey (Tiddly Inks);  Rubber stamp:  Boo! (retired TAC);  Paper:  Icky from Heebie Jeebies (WRMK), flocked dot (Hobby Lobby), Penelope & Caboodle white cs;  Other:  Copic markers, VersaFine Onyx ink, iron fence punch (MS), bat & webbed trims (May Arts), moon transparency (MM), pumpkin brad (OTC)

I fussy-cut the 6x6 Heebie frame and glued it to a slightly smaller white card base.  Love the shape and that image just makes me smile.
:)
See?

Well, off you go to Catherine's blog for more Tricks or Treats :)
Enjoy the hop and I hope your Halloween is frightfully fun!

HDH062 Smeared & Smudged and Stamp Insanity challenges...

First up, Smeared Ink's Wicked Witch.  LOVE her.  Very vintagey image... which is sooooo not me, but she was too fabulous to pass up!  I'm not loving the colors I used for the ruffled business around her neck, but I like the rest of it... especially how the sky & ground turned out :)

Digi:  Wicked Witch (Smeared Ink);  Rubber Stamp:  So Splattered (retired TAC)
Paper:  Bazzil & Caboodle white cs;  Other:  Nesties, Scor-Bug, black lace, Noir Palette ink;  Copics:  BV02, BV04, BV08, BV20, BV23, V93, V95, V99, YG11, YG13, YG17, YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97, YR15, YR18, YR23

Next up, Angelika from Stamp Insanity... all in lover-ly pink :)  I LOVE the oh-so-slightly-devious smirk she has on her face.  And I just HAD to glittery-up those wings.  The sentiment?  Perfect me thinks. :)  I reeeeeeeealllly like how she turned out!

Digi:  Angelika (Stamp Insanity);  Rubber Stamp:  sentiment (retired TAC);  Paper:  Mimi dp (retired TAC, but More Mimi is better!) and Mimi & Caboodle white cs;  Other:  VersaFine Onyx ink, Crystal Stickles, & ribbon (Michael's);  Copics:  0, E000, E00, E01, E11, E35, R32, R81, R85, R89, YG11, YG13, YR21, YR23, YR24

So, how did you like double-the-goodness today?  Does it in some way make up for me slacking off as of late?!  I hope so.  And guess what... I'll be posting a Tiddly Inks / Simply Betty hop card on Friday!  You are going to be on HDH overload this week :)  As well you should be, after all there are just a few days left to count down to Halloween!  Yeay!

PS... I'm taking a poll.  Please check the sidebar and give me your opinion... I'd appreciate it!  Thanks!

ALL ABOUT BETTY BLOG HOP

The gals from The Burtonesque Dolls, Simply Betty Stamps and Simply Betty Challenges blogs figured it was a good time to put together a blog hop of our very own:

SIMPLY BETTY.

This hop is ALLLLLLLLLLLLL about Betty and since October is Betty's favorite month (as it should be!) and there are sooooo many exciting things happening, why not do it just before?!!  This way we can get things warmed up for the whole October and Halloween theme.  Kinda like an appie!!

And since Halloween is her favorite time of year you will be seeing mostly, if not all Halloween cards and we have used only Betty Emo's images.

For my tribute to Betty, of course I HAD to use the Witchy Betty stamp!  After all, Betty just happens to be my Halloweenie Soul Sistah :)  I am sooooooo glad we found each other via the WWW.  She is just one of the sweetest gals around... pairing that with the fact that she has some sah-weet stamps & digis... and then throw the whole love-for-Halloween into the mix... how could I NOT dig this chick?!!  Thanks, B... thanks for asking me to be a part of your DT... thanks for your lovely comments... but most of all, thanks for your lovely self :)

Stamps:  Witch Betty (SBS), sentiment (retired TAC)
Paper:  Neenah white; DCWV green, Penelope, Kraft & black (TAC)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo
Other:  Copic markers, PTI woodgrain texture plate, Tim Holtz edge die, black gem
And wouldn't you know that this card just so happens to also work for my HDH058 Magical Mayhem challenge!!  Yeay... I actually got to play along with my own challenge... 1st time in a long time!

Without further ado, let's check out some more inspiring and creative cards from all the ladies.  Please note because this is an appreciation blog hop there are no prizes.  It's just for fun but the ladies wouldn't mind some luvin' from you anyway!!

So LET'S GET HOPPING!!  Your first stop is Eulanda!!!

HDH053 - Pink on the Brink...

... on the brink of being finished?  Nope, not even close.  I sat down last night to start my challenge card, got impatient, didn't let my ink dry long enough, and poof... smeared.  So, I went ahead and played around with the color combo that I WOULD have used for my challenge card... which will not be done.

That's right... I'm a quitter.  : P

I do have a good excuse... kinda.  I worked 7 days in a row without any time off and it totally sapped my creative mojo-ness.  I'm hoping that today, while I'm giving some coloring pointers to a buddy of mine, my mojo will creep back to me.  Wish me luck!

Stamp:  Perfect Poison (Kraftin' Kimmie); Paper:  Neenah; Ink:  Memento Tuxedo; Copics:  RV10, RV13, RV14, C5, V99, YG11, YG13, YG17

Good news:  I have all of the prize packs except for last week's and this week's ready to go postal tomorrow!  And I'll announce the Stamp It Crazy challenge winners this week, and MAYBE even the Tickled Pink - Pink on the Brink winner as well!  Be sure to check back :)

HDH052 - Graveyard step card

Freakin' finally, right?  I stayed up late last night finishing this little baby off.  I've seen step cards around for awhile now, and just never tried one out... this HDH052 challenge gave me the perfect reason to do one :)  I mean, sometimes it's tough to get three or more images on one card unless you have just a little bit more room to work with :)

Have I told you lately that I LOVE my MS grass border punch?!  I think that is clear on this little graveyard scene!

I stamped the iron gate on a transparency and then glued it at the bottom & covered it with another grass strip to conceal it.  Works well me thinks!

I'm not sure you can tell, but there are a bunch of little stars in the night sky that I made with a glitter pen.

How do you like the kitty hiding behind the grass?  That would be a "whoopsie-turned-wonderful".  I took a marker to color the white around his whiskers green, so that it would blend a bit.  UGH!  Do NOT do that.  So I covered it all with the bunch of grass... genius me thinks :)

Don't you love the orange bubbly wondermous oozing from the cauldron in the background?!  Me too :)  And the gravestone border punch from MS... love love LOVE.  Love even more when I add a little Stickles to them :)

Delightfully Spooky (TAC sentiment), witch/cauldron silhouette (unknown)
Paper:  Bazzill & Neenah white & TAC black cardstocks
Ink:  StazOn black, Memento Tuxedo, VersaFine Onyx,
Other:  MS border punches, orange & Concord Distress Stickles, clear Stardust glitter pen, Copic markers

This is Alice Chains... what do you think is goin' on in her mind?  Me thinks this would make a fun Valentine's Day or Anniversary card... I'm sure the hubbs would like it ;)

A lot of fun to color, but MAN the skirting took awhile, whew.  LOVE how her eyeshadow & bodice turned out!  Please click on photos to enlarge.

La la la la la la Lola...

All in green :)  I know that this Simply Betty's line of stamps is called "My Kids Emo World"... but I decided to give Lola a bit of gray hair today :)

This is the first time I've colored her up, and I must say that straight hair is hard!  No hiding mistakes in a lock of curls or anything... dammit.  So needless to say, the back of this image panel looks as colorful as the front... lots and lots of marker ink and it still isn't fabulous.  BUT practice is the key, right?!

I am sooooooo diggin' the eyes, though.  I probably should have added some Glossy Accents to them, but I didn't... they look glossy already, don't they?  I love how Betty's stamp artist added eyeball highlight areas to help you color :)

Stamps:  Lola (SBS), sentiment/box (Studio G)
Paper:  white (Neenah & PTI), black (TAC), green (DCWV) cardstocks
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo
Other:  texture plate (PTI), white pen (Signo), Stardust silver glitter pen, metal trim (JoAnn's clearance!!!), ribbon (HL)
Copics:  0, BV20, BV23, C5, E000, E00, V95, V99, YG01, YG03, YG91

What do you think?  Witchy enough?

Halloween is Hoppin' at Tiddly Inks!

Now, on to the show :)  I chose Gossmere for my very first EVER TI image... I know!  Can you believe I've waited this long?  Isn't she freakin' cute?!  I just can't decide if she is a vamp or a witch... either way, she's got a princess complex, right?!

Digi:  Gossmere (TI)
Rubber Stamp:  Delightfully Spooky (TAC)
Paper:  Bazzill, PTI white & Neenah cardstocks
Ink:  VersaFine Onyx
Other:  Tim Holtz embossing folder, EK Success & MS border punches, spider confetti, MM felt flower, black felt flower (handmade), misc. gems, Scor-bug, silver glitter pen
Copics:  0, BV0000, BV20, BV23, YG01, YG03, YG91, G24, V01, V06, V09, V99

These photos are horrible... even clicking to make them bigger might not help.  I really need a little spot to set up so I can take pics at night without them turning out icky... dang it.  Believe it or not, but the plum violet cardstock matches her dress perfectly.  And I'm really happy with how well her blue-violet skin turned out  :)

HDH045 Macabre Monday challenge...

Thought I'd post this before the weekend gets too far away from me.  Of course it didn't help that I slept in until 10am!!!  I KNOW.  But, I didn't go to bed until the wee hours of the morning, so it's not like I'm THAT big of a loser :)  I was up watching some LAME horror movie... I didn't even wait until the end to change the channel... yeah, THAT lame.

Anyway, on to today's bit of creepy cuteness :)  I FINALLY finished my entry for this week's masking challenge!  And so sorry... it IS cute.  :)

I had the idea for this since I first saw this set in the new TAC catalogue at seminar.  Well, I didn't have the broom and hat in mind, but the rest... definitely.  I admit, it looked better in my head... it looks kinda cluttered and busy now.  I should have left off the broom & hat... but I LOVE that broom stamp.  And isn't she such a cute little witch... all ready for bed in her pink curlers?!

Stamps:  Movie Night, Spring Dream and All Season Swirls (retired TAC), broom (Battle Axe), sentiment (Viva Las Vegas)
Paper:  Penelope & brown cardstocks, Cougar white cardstock
Other:  Lime Stickles
Copics:  0, YR02, YR04, YR07, YR18, YR23, YR24, YG01, YG03, YG91, V01, V06, V09, RV02, RV10, RV11, RV13, E09, E31, E35, E53, E57, E59, BG02

Here is the original stamp image (above).  I masked over the little girl on the left.  I LOVE the hair curlers.  They make me smile.  They remind me of when I was a very little girl... I would watch my sisters & mom put them in their hair.  I also masked the sentiment/swirls & a teensie bit of the broom.

So much fun to color... I need to work on my wood floor technique more.  Maybe I should google you-tube that.  Her hair & face turned out awesome, me thinks.

HDH044 - Noxious Toxins

HDH Macabre Monday Rules:
1. Create a dark and macabre SOMETHING (card, scrap page, altered item, whatever) that follows the specific Macabre Monday challenge given. Cutesy is fine, but creepy is better :)
2. You have until the following Sunday night @ 5pm central time to post your creation and please leave a direct-link back here.
3. If you upload to any online galleries (TACPCC, S&S, PCP, SCS, etc.), please tag the title using HDH044.
4. Weekly giveaways!  Some weeks will be loaded with loot, others not-so-much... but the thrill is in the win, right?!  Some prizes shall be by random drawing, others hand picked... and I'm not telling you ahead of time :)
5. I'll be selecting a weekly Gruesome Twosome (my top two favorite creations) from all the players. At the end of every month these will be compiled and a Master of Macabre will be selected. He/she will be asked to be a guest blogger for the following month, if they so wish, and receive a little giftie from me... this could be stamp sets, handmade items, papers, halloweenie embellishments... you just never know.

Ok, my little pretties... your challenge this week:
Noxious Toxins

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween page, project or card using images & sentiments of a poisonous nature.   Arsenic bottles, killer ivy, venomous snakes, pollutants of nature...
... it's a toxic free-for-all.

Check it!  Another week of getting my card done on time :)
Oh, man... I probably just jinxed myself!

Is this not freakin' adorable?  I know... I REALLY like the dark & creepy, but I saw this image and had to have it.  I love the sweet & sinister look on her face :)  This image is huge... not much room for any extra schtuff.  I should have done a 5-1/2" square card... but that's out of my comfort zone :)

Stamps:  Perfect Poison (or is it Pretty Poison? -- Kraftin' Kimmie)
Paper:  Neenah white, TAC black & DCWV green cardstocks
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo
Other:  MS border punch, Crystal Lacquer, Offray & HL ribbons
Copics:  0, E000, E00, E11, V93, V95, V99, YG01, YG05, BV20, BV23

I added a little lacquer to the bottle, her eyes, & barrettes.  I know... ANOTHER dotty background... but it is totally in keeping with this image, no?!  Me loves it.

Ok.  Your turn.  Are y'all up for concocting a little sumpin' sumpin' for this week's challenge?
